Mystery prize machines open to fraud, say police

The possibility of fraudulent practices was among the reasons why the police declared such machines illegal earlier this month, forcing operators in malls and arcades islandwide to abruptly shut them down. Mr Amos Tan, SP’s Business School Senior Lecturer and Section Head of Marketing and Retail, opined that retailers have become more creative to draw consumers’ attention given the stiff price competition online.
