Article featured the Food Innovation and Resource Centre (FIRC) at SP, which has developed food innovations for food manufacturers, including Irvins Salted Egg Fish Skin and ready to drink Singapore Sling in a bottle. FIRC has also helped home-grown jam company, Straits Preserves, to produce and scale up their production of jam. Article also mentioned how FIRC is tapping on 3D food-printing technology to come up with food alternatives for consumers with special diets, such as the elderly who have difficulties swallowing.
