Article featured Billy Steven Tay Kit Foong and Isaac Tan Weng Hong, SP students who entered through the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE). Billy, who is a second-year student from the diploma in creative writing for TV & New Media (DTVM), shared about his passion for reading from a young age. He was poring over Calvin And Hobbes comics at five years old, and moved on to classics such as Animal Farm and 1984 when he was 10. He would also help his mother, an entertainment producer, with events as well. However, it was only when Billy joined the theatre club in secondary school that helped him figure out his identity and solidify his passion for writing. Billy then gave EAE a shot and has no regret since. On the other hand, Isaac, who is a second-year student from the diploma in infocomm security management (DISM), enrolled in SP through the EAE from ITE College East. Isaac shared that he neglected his studies in primary school because of computer games and as a result, scored an aggregate of 127 which led him to the Normal (Technical) stream in secondary school. Eventually, Isaac went on to ITE, where he applied for a Nitec in the network systems administration. There, he was able to transform his love for gaming into a passion for computers. Both Billy and Isaac also shared some tips for those who are considering EAE.
