News clip highlighted a new partnership between Paypal, the five polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), which aims to expand Singapore’s talent pool in the FinTech sector. Paypal will work with the polytechnics and ITE for four new modules, which will look at topics like e-payments, solutions testing and risk and fraud management. The partnership will also provide students with resources and mentorship to develop their own projects, and selected students will get to go for internships at Paypal where they will work with engineers to solve real business cases. SP student Yeo Boon Hao shared that the collaboration will allow students to have an easier time implementing payment services and solutions into their applications, as well as allow them to translate their innovations and ideas into reality.
