Polytechnic graduates display creativity to celebrate cancelled graduation ‘ceremonies’

09 May 2020

News clip featured SP’s Diploma in Landscape Architecture graduate, Azzah Atifah Mohd Ramezan, who created her own graduation gown using excess materials from her project works, such as cardboard and paint, to pin on her mother’s abaya (long dress). She had a mini graduation photoshoot at home, donning her ‘gown’ and holding her digital diploma certificate. Azzah even celebrated the occasion with her relatives through video call. The news clip also featured School of Architecture and the Built Environment lecturer, Fan Ay Deng, who organised virtual graduation ceremonies for his Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management graduates, with each class’ session lasting for about 1.5 hours on Zoom. His student, Nurul Natasha Rosli, shared her gratitude towards her lecturer for organising the special occasion, where her classmates had the opportunity to give their speeches and congratulate each other online.
