Record number of polytechnic grads, 18 of them, admitted to NUS medicine this year

Article mentioned that a record number of 18 polytechnic graduates were admitted to the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of medicine this year. This is the highest number of polytechnic graduates admitted since 2007. One of the graduates who is SP Diploma in Nutrition, Health and Wellness alumnus Joanne Wong said that her mom’s cancer diagnosis, when she was eight years old, impacted her greatly and spurred her to study to become a doctor. She added that her polytechnic education has prepared her well for a medical education, as she was able to gain in-depth knowledge during her diploma course. Her internship at Mt Alvernia Hospital was also an invaluable experience and allowed her to apply her knowledge in the working world.
