Seven receive Boys’ Brigade top award

SP’s Diploma in Aerospace Electronics student Kennard Tay was one of seven senior Boys’ Brigade (BB) members who received the President’s Award. The award is the highest accolade in the BB and recipients must show a high level of leadership and service in the community spanning at least six years. Kennard, who is a volunteer with Lions Befrienders, has been making weekly visits to the elderly living in Jalan Bukit Merah since 2016. Over the years, he has helped translate letters from English to Mandarin and also taught the elderly how to use smartphones. This is on top of his duties of helping the elderly to change their bed sheets and buy groceries. Similar story was reported in Lianhe Zaobao and The New Paper.
