Singapore launched first digital readiness blueprint, with inclusivity a thrust

Article featured Singapore’s first digital readiness blueprint, which comprises strategies and recommendations made by the Digital Readiness Workgroup. The 16-strong workgroup, which was convened last year, was led by Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information and Transport, and included representatives from SP, SG Enable and Touch Community services, and officers from the Ministry of Communications and Information, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Smart Nation and Digital Government Group, as well as private sector executives from Google, Facebook, Microsoft and DBS Bank. The recommendations by the workgroup aims to provide widespread access to technology, drive literacy, and encourage everyone to play a part in strengthening digital readiness and hardcoding digital inclusion into the design of all processes and services.
