SMRT ties up with S’pore’s five polytechnics to boost home-grown talent pipeline

Public transport operator SMRT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with SP and the other polytechnics to strengthen the pipeline of home-grown engineers, programmers and other specialists for both the company and the wider rail industry. SP course chair of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Dr Thian Boon Meng, who has been placed on staff attachment with SMRT twice, said that there is growing interest among students to join the rail industry and the quality of students enrolled in SP’s Rapid Transit Technology course has improved over the years.
