Technology and automation benefit workforce

Article featured Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) graduates, Muhamad Faiz Jakaria and Abdull Hafiz Abdullah, who have benefitted from technological advancements and automation in their line of work. Faiz for example, no longer needs to manually measure and calculate cargo volumes. Hafiz also explains how turning on the engine can now be done with a push of a button, as compared to the past, where a few valves had to be rotated. Both Faiz and Hafiz are working at Sinanju, as Chief Officer and Second Engineer respectively.
