The experience of witnessing a fire fuelled his passion for becoming a fire safety volunteer

Mr Mohamad Ibrahim Seman remembers a fire under a block of flats near his home in 24 Bendemeer Road around 18 years ago. Not wanting to see such an incident happening again, Mohamad Ibrahim, now 24, decided to join a group of volunteers to provide rapid response in an emergency and prevent fires. The second-year SP Diploma in Facilities Management student is among four individuals who joined the Jalan Besar Fire Safety Kakis initiative—all of whom are residents of Jalan Besar GRC—intending to help their neighbours, especially the elderly.
