The future and automation of indoor hydroponics farm in Toa Payoh

Story featured how SP is working with residents in Toa Payoh to test Internet of Things technology in an indoor community hydroponic farm. By tapping on technology, parts of the crop cultivation process can be monitored and automated. SP is also working with SIF Pte Ltd on a large-scale indoor farm to test out these technologies. Specialist Lu Hongli from the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering said that tapping on technology could allow the planting cycle of vegetables to be shortened by 30%. A SIF spokesperson also shared how SP’s technologies can help improve productivity.
