The new programmes at polytechnics

From expanded industrial training with leading industry leaders, to offering double majors to develop competencies in various fields. Local polytechnics are now actively exploring various initiatives to produce more competitive graduates. Students from RP will have the opportunity to conduct experiments at one of the leading biomedical companies. A new skills transcript that highlights students' soft skills to potential employers was also introduced by TP. From April 2026, NP students will be able to choose a second major starting from their second year. To ensure students are always up to date with the latest industry technology developments, NYP has launched a new media studio. Meanwhile, SP has introduced a new minor in robotics. This is in line with the high demand in the semiconductor industry, as well as the fields of robotics and automation. Dr Lim Joo Ghee, Deputy Senior Director, Engineering Cluster, School of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, shared that this is in line with the high demand in the semiconductor industry, as well as the fields of robotics and automation.
