This S’porean student learnt 3D printing on YouTube, now uses the skill to make & sell lamps

Jovi Lim, a 20-year-old student from Singapore Polytechnic, founded Sonogo Design, a company specialising in plant-based, 3D-printed lamps. Inspired by designer lighting but deterred by high prices, Jovi taught himself 3D printing through YouTube tutorials. He invested in a 3D printer and began creating lamp prototypes at home. In September 2024, he officially launched Sonogo Design from his bedroom, aiming to make high-quality, handcrafted lamps accessible to Singaporeans. As Jovi will be enlisting for National Service soon, he is currently focused on raising funds with the goal of opening a physical store once he completes his service.
