Traineeships for new grads amid weak job market

Article featured the SGUnited Traineeships Programme that has seen 700 organisations, companies, government agencies and ministries coming together to offer more than 7,500 opportunities for recent graduates. The programme aims to boost their employability by the time hiring demand picks up. The graduates will receive an estimated monthly training allowance of $1,100 to $2,500, depending on their qualifications. SP’s Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering graduate Muhammad Suhaib Mohd Seth, is one individual who will benefit from the programme. Since young, he had always dreamt of becoming an aircraft engineer and after his polytechnic studies, he went on to study mechanical engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). With the coronavirus pandemic affecting his job prospects, Muhammad Suhaib is now taking up a traineeship at NUS.
