Training opportunity just like a full-time job

Article featured SP’s Diploma in Maritime Business alumnus, Luqmanul Hakeem Yusof, whose interest towards the maritime industry has grown having gone through internship in the past. Graduating from the University of Plymouth in May, Luqmanul found it difficult to find a job in the middle of the pandemic with companies either not hiring, or preferring a more experienced candidate. The 23 year old then decided to take up a nine month SGUnited Traineeship programme as a technical assistant with Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Singapore, instead of continuing his search for a full-time job. Luqmanul is looking forward to boarding a cargo vessel this month.
