SP-Administered Bursaries/ Scholarships/ Grants

Donors-Sponsored Bursaries (Closed)

Application for NEW AY2023 : 1 Apr - 5 May 2023

Results: By end Jun 2023

Each year, hundreds of bursaries are given out through this scheme because of the generous donations of organizations and individuals. The values of the bursary awards are between $1,000 to $5,000 per academic year.

All Full-time diploma students who need financial assistance are strongly encouraged to apply for this category of financial assistance first. Check your eligibility here.

Selections are based on donors' criteria (which may include nationality, course, academic performance, financial circumstances, CCA, etc). Shortlisted candidates may be contacted to attend interviews if required by the donor.

Application Procedures:

  • You may need:
    1. Income Declaration Form (IDF) for 1 family member who is self-employed or unemployed including housewife. For more than 1 family members, use IDF for multiple pax instead. Delete any unused form if applicable.
    2. CPF Board has stopped the issuance of hardcopy CPF statements since the start of 2021. Please retrieve the CPF Contribution History statements digitally through the CPF Mobile App.
    3. Checklist of supporting documents to prepare for online uploading. 
    4. Free phone apps such as CamScanner (Iphone and Android users), Adobe Scan, Scannable (iPhone users)
    5. All students are encouraged to participate in the Interbank Giro Scheme. If you do not have a GIRO account registered with SP, submit your e-GIRO application online (DBS/POSB acct holders only) OR Mail original completed Interbank GIRO Form to below: Softcopy of GIRO form will not be processed.

Important Notes:

1. For Singaporean students, once you put in the application for donors-sponsored bursaries, SP will also apply for either the Higher Education Community Bursary or the Higher Education Bursary depending on your family income. You must be a Tuition Grant (TG) recipient to receive MOE-funded bursary.

 

2. Applicant can check the result of their application in Student Portal by end June.

 

3. Each bursary award is only valid for one academic year. Should you wish to be considered for bursary in the next academic year, you have to file a new bursary application.

 

4. Students should make arrangements to pay for their school fees for the first semester while waiting for their application for financial assistance to be approved.

          External Bursaries

          Sivadas-HEB Education Fund (Open til 17 May 2023)

          Application Deadline: 17 May 2023

          The Sivadas-HEB Education Fund invites Hindu students from low-income families pursuing tertiary education to apply for financial assistance to help them meet the cost of their education. Students can apply for either a Tuition Subsidy or an Education Grant.

          Education Grant: One time award, up to $1500

          Eligibility Criteria

          • Singaporean or Singapore PR
          • Hindus
          • Full-time Diploma students
          • Monthly per capital income (PCI) must not exceed $1900
          • Not in receipt of any bursary 

          Application must be submitted online through Hindu Endowments Board website here.

          Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview within 3 weeks of the closing date.

          MENDAKI - Anugerah Belia Cemerlang & SAAE Non-Academic 2023 (Open fr 17 Apr - 26 May 2023)

          Application Period: 17 Apr - 26 May 2023

          Anugerah Belia Cemerlang MENDAKI aims to inspire the community towards embracing lifelong learning and support youths in their quest to attain various peaks of excellence. This award was formerly known as the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award (GCTYPA).

          GIC Sparks and Smiles Award (Closed)

          Quantum: $3,500 / Academic Year

          • Singaporeans
          • Full-time Diploma students
          • Gross monthly household per capita income (PCI)* of $2,475 and below
          • Applied for a Donor Sponsored Bursary this academic year 2023
          • Current actively involved in community service
          • Must complete 25 hours of volunteering with GIC's partner Beyond Social Services by April 2024

          2. Financial Assistance for Notebook PC

          Notebook Subsidy - 2nd out of 3 Applications (Open from 5 Jun to 18 Aug 2023)

          The one-time notebook subsidy is intended to help new students offset some of the cost of notebook purchase. 1st Year students who have bought a notebook PC in the year of enrolment may apply for this subsidy. PFP students may choose to apply for this subsidy either in their PFP year or 1st year in their diploma course. The award is given on a reimbursement basis.

          Eligibility Criteria

          • Singaporeans
          • PFP / Full-time students in their 1st Year of study
          • Gross monthly household per capita income (PCI*) of $1,100 or below OR
            Gross monthly household income (GHI^) of $4,400 or below
          • Not received this subsidy before
          • Applied for a SP-Administered Bursary (Higher Education Community Bursary/ Higher Education Bursary) this academic year

          PFP students who meet the above criteria but not the DFP Bursary are also eligible for the Notebook Subsidy, and can apply FROM 5 June 2023 during 2nd Application. Dates for 3rd Application will be published at a later date after close of 2nd application.

            The document MUST be dated the same year as the application (e.g. if applicant applied in April 2023, then document has to show 2023).

          2. Apply online via e-Services/e-Resources (Finance Matters > Apply for FAS)
             
          3. Prepare and upload supporting documents online via e-Services/e-Resources (Finance Matters > Upload Supporting Documents for FAS) by following the steps in this Guide to Apply Notebook Subsidy.

          IMDA DigitalAccess@Home

          DigitalAccess@Home is an assistance scheme administered by IMDA to supports low-income households with affordable home internet connectivity and devices (laptops and tablets).

          Refer to IMDA website for application procedures and details.  

          Year 1 students who bought an IMDA-funded notebook can apply for SP Notebook Subsidy if they are eligible (see information under Notebook Subsidy).

          3. SP Needy Fund

          SP Needy Fund

          Full time students encountering acute financial hardship may apply for the SP Needy Fund.

          Application Procedures:

          1. Download and complete the SP Needy Fund application form together with the documents required
          2. Make an appointment through e-Services / e-Resources for a phone interview with the officer in-charge
          3. Under the remarks, please indicate "SP Needy Fund application"
            (Counselling & Mentoring > Request for Counselling > choose 'Financial' under category)

          Upon receiving your request, the officer in-charge will contact you to confirm the appointment date and time.
