About the SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme

The SkillsFuture Earn and Learn Programme is a work-study programme designed to give Fresh Full-Time graduates* from ITE or one of the 5 polytechnics in Singapore, a head-start in careers related to their discipline of study. Applicant must be an Employee of a Earn and Learn Programme Participating Company.

How to apply?

Interested applicants, who are Fresh Full-Time graduates* from ITE or one of the 5 polytechnics in Singapore, may submit the ELP application form (found in the respective course website) together their resume with the course name as the subject header to ptenquiry@sp.edu.sg.  Please note that all resumes will be forwarded to all participating companies for their selection.

Selection of applicants is at the discretion of the participating companies and participating companies will contact their shortlisted applicants for interview.

Only applicants who are hired by the participating companies will be invited to submit an online application for the Earn and Learn Programme.

For Fresh ITE Graduates

*Fresh Full-Time ITE graduates are defined as individuals who are hired by Participating Companies within 36# months after their graduation from the (graduation date as stated on the Nitec/Higher Nitec certificate). For male participants who need to serve National Service, the 36#-month period will start from the ORD.

How does it work?

You will be matched with a job related to your discipline of study and undergo a 12- to 18-month structured training programme, depending on the sector and job requirements. The programme includes facilitated learning, on-the-job training and work-based projects, to allow you to deepen your skill sets at the workplace. Assigned mentors at the company will guide you and provide support in your continual skills development. You will also enjoy a well-structured career progression pathway, in line with the company’s talent development plan. At the end of the programme, you will receive an industry-recognised certification and potential wage progression or career advancement based on performance.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for the programme, the applicant must be a Fresh Full-Time graduate* from ITE or one of the 5 polytechnics in Singapore, (Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents), who meet the minimum entry requirements of the Earn and Learn programme and are hired by a Participating Company.

Fresh Full-Time graduates are defined as individuals who are hired by Participating Companies within 36# months after their graduation from the ITE or polytechnic (graduation date as stated on the Nitec/Higher Nitec/Diploma certificate). This group includes existing employees with the Participating Companies who have graduated from ITE/polytechnic within the same period. For male participants who need to serve National Service, the 36#-month period will start from the ORD. Participants who are Singapore Citizens and Fresh ITE/polytechnic graduate will be eligible for a Sign-on Incentive of up to $5000 when they are successfully placed on the Programme.

In-employment individuals who have graduated from ITE/polytechnic for more than the 36# months period but within 5 years from the date of graduation or ORD may also apply for the programme. The admission for this group of applicants into the Programme will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis depending on appeals or requests from Participating Companies. The In-employment individuals will NOT be eligible for a Sign-on Incentive of up to $5000 when they are successfully placed on the Programme.

The Sign-on Incentive will be disburse to the participant’s bank account in 2 tranches:

  • 1st tranche of SGD$2,500 - 8 weeks after the submission of the signed Agreement of Grant document by the participant
  • 2nd tranche of SGD$2,500 - 8 weeks after upon successful completion of the Earn and Learn Programme

Participants who withdraw from the programme or asked to leave or have their employment terminated by the employer will be required to return the sign-on incentive.
