Amelia Pickering was on a year-long internship with American President Lines (APL) when she was a graduate of the Diploma in Nautical Studies at SP. While working on two massive APL container ships, she visited ports like Chiwan in China, Dammam in Saudi Arabia, San Francisco in the United States and Valencia in Spain, and passed through the Suez Canal in Egypt en route to France.

Former sea Captain and now Director of SP’s Singapore Maritime Academy Mohd Salleh Ahmad shared about his passion for the maritime industry. He also shared that a wide range of job opportunities in the maritime industry are available for the younger generation but they will need to be equipped with the relevant skills.

SP’s part-time Diploma in Business Practice student Mr Tneoh Yunn Chung talked about his desire to lead by example to motivate his sons in school. He managed to graduate beside his son Yuan Chen, who was enrolled in SP’s Diploma in Human Resource Management with Psychology.

SP’s Diploma in Industrial Chemistry and Life Sciences student Lina Afiqah Mohd Nor shared how the current continuing education and training (CET) course she is taking will allow her to have better career prospects.

Amos Ng, Leon Kwang, Chen Xiao Wei, Thant Zaw Aung and Lew Lin from SP’s School of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, together with their lecturer Leong Ying Wei, built a hoverboard that can levitate and move along a track for their final-year project. They also set the record for "strongest quantum levitation effect on a hoverboard" in the Singapore Book of Records, with a 70.9kg weight on their hoverboard.
