Teamwork is Key to Winning
Facing tough competition from teams from India, Macau, Malaysia and Hong Kong, the Singapore team taking part in the Asian Management Game (AMG) put up a creditable performance when they emerged runners-up.
The achievement is all the more remarkable when one consider the fact that the team ‘Go for the Gold’ was made up of fresh graduates from Singapore Polytechnic (SP) Business School. And its members were the youngest to participate in this year’s AMG.
The AMG is a regional business strategy competition, where teams pit their managerial skills against one another. It is played over a business simulation system that mirrors the business environment of the real world. Participants are made up of winners or runners-up of the countries’ national management competition.
When asked about their winning strategy, team leader Tan Zhong Jie commented, “Teamwork. And we wouldn’t have won if we didn’t have a dedicated team.”
The team added that they were grateful to Mr Christopher Cheong for coaching and preparing the team and wanted to share the win with SP. This is the second year that SP students and graduates have represented Singapore at this regional competition.
