Collaboration with IE Singapore and LinkedIn
On 28 March 2017, eight Diploma in Human Resource Management with Psychology (DHRMP) students assumed the role of Liaison Officers at the IE Singapore-LinkedIn-Singapore Polytechnic Partnership Launch at IE Singapore. This partnership initiative was launched through a breakfast session where business and HR leaders of Singapore companies discussed about best practices on building an effective recruitment strategy for internationalisation and overcoming hiring challenges across Asia. Through this partnership, it opened up opportunities for SP Business School’s industry partners and DHRMP students to attend free workshops on social recruitment and employer branding through LinkedIn.
Mrs Wong Mei Shan (Speaker in red jacket), Deputy Director, SP Business School said: “As the Sector Lead for the Human Resource (HR) Sector, the role of the SP Business School is to coordinate with all polytechnics and Institute of Technical Education to ensure a smooth rolling out of initiatives for the SkillsFuture Earn & Learn Programme, Enhanced internships and Skills-based Modular courses, such as SP’s Specialist Diploma in Enhanced Human Resource Skills. As the workplace becomes more digital and with growing emphasis on productivity and innovation, companies must constantly respond to these changes or run the risks of lagging behind their competitors. The wave of digitalisation has opened up many opportunities to SP’s DHRMP graduates to add value to the various domains of HR including recruitment and company branding. Graduates who are IT savvy and adept to the use of social media will be in a good position to take on such HR jobs of the future. This partnership with LinkedIn and the industry partners is an excellent platform for our graduates to pick up skillsets to thrive in this new economy.”
