Singapore Human Resource Challenge 2017
Our one and only DHRMP alumni team, who participated in the Singapore HR Challenge 2017, won 2nd place in the HR competition which was held on Sat, 29 July 2017 at the SP Auditorium. In addition, one of our alumni, Tan Zhao Xuan also won the “Outstanding Presenter Award”! This event was organised by the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI).
This year’s theme is “Preparing for the Millennial Workforce: Are Organisations Ready”. It aims to allow participants to study, analyse and propose how organisations can adapt and refine their corporate culture to appeal to the millennial workforce for continued success.
This is what the team, “The Game Changers” comprising Tan Hui Shan (team leader), Joanne Tan Hui San, Tan Zhao Xuan and Wong Chu Ting has to say about their experience: “With this year's theme being "Preparing for the Millennial Workforce: Are Organizations Ready?", our team embarked on a fruitful journey of discovering deeper insights into the various challenges that employees in the Millennial Workforce face, as well as creative and innovative solutions to bridge the gap between organizations and the Millennials to achieve continued success for the organisation.
We have learnt a lot throughout the 2 months of the preparation for this competition such as how to work as a team and portraying ourselves professionally. Also, we get some exposure into the real working world.
The HR challenge provided us with a platform to put our knowledge into practical situations. It allows us to think out of the box, be creative and innovative with our recommendations, and it also exposed us to a wider range of ideas from other groups and HR professionals. We are deeply humble and thankful for this wonderful opportunity!"
Thank you very much, Team! The DHRMP lecturers and students are so proud of you!
