DEPM Student Tutorials Win Awards & Cash Prizes at New York Festival

Two (2) second year students Jing Ting Kwong & Jasmine Ku taking the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management (DEPM) received the Special Mention Award and a cash prize of US$100 each for their photos and accompanying captions at the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF), New York.

Both students submitted their tutorials from Public Relations and Marketing for the contest.

The theme of the festival was "Open Space". And participants had to give their definition of open space in less than 20 words and a matching photo.

Three esteemed jurors novelist Sorayya Khan (USA), writer and activist Tim McCaskell (Canada), and poet and media theorist Kole Ade-Odutola (Nigeria), evaluated the photos and the captions as part of “Define Open Space Contest”.

The grand prize award & other special mention award were won by participants from Canada and the USA. A component of FLEFF 2009–10’s year-long rollout of blogs, screenings and online user-generated events, “Define Open Space” offered participants from around the globe the opportunity to explore open space.
