Global TEDxYouthDay 2011 was a series of over 100 TEDx events happening all around the world in November. Designed to empower and inspire young people, the global theme of TEDxYouthDay 2011 was 'Play, Learn, Build and Share'.
TEDxYouth@Singapore took place on 19 November 2011. It was organised by a team of passionate students from the School of Communication, Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) and the School of Design (SD), led by Sadali Malawi, a final year student from the Diploma in Media and Communication.
The team conceptualised a sub-theme, IDEA + ACTION for the Singapore event. The 13 speakers, each armed with an idea, seeking to empower and enrich the lives of young people, were given the stage at TEDxYouthSingapore to act on their ambition.

With diverse backgrounds and different interests, the speakers spoke on a wide range of topics -- from cultivating creative culture to the war in Georgia.
The event was a great success. The audience was enthralled both by the passion of the speakers and the boldness of ideas put forth to encourage change for a better tomorrow.
