In collaboration with NTUC Club Downtown East, two group of students from the Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management (DEPM) organised a Halloween event on 30 and 31 October 2015 at the D’Resort.
The students’ involvement in the project included conceptualising, planning, marketing, recruiting talents, and execution of the event, to post-event evaluation.
Held at the Downtown East Event Square for visitors, a haunted house, vending machine booth and mirror booth were constructed for the occasion. The vending machine booth offered visitors with either “Trick” or “Treat” surprises whereas the 2-way mirror booth was designed as an eye illusion to trick visitors.
Another separate event entitled “Parade of the Dead” organised for the resort’s guests, showcased scare actors dressed as twisted Fairytale characters with gruesome appearances parading along the chalet route. In addition, there were scare actors dressed as “Mexican Day of the Dead” carrying colourful decorated skulls and oversized skeletons props to enhance the overall effect of the Parade. The guests at D’Resort were excited about the Parade and were looking forward to seeing their all-time favourite Fairytale characters in Halloween costumes.
Overall, the two-day event was a huge success as the turnout was higher than expected. Both the students’ teams also received many positive feedback from the clients and the attendees.
