Singapore Polytechnic Diploma in Business Information Technology (DBIT) Team emerged Second Runner-Up at NUS SoC Inter-School Asian IT Management Case Competition 2011

Three teams of students, two from Diploma in Business Information Technology (DBIT) and one from Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) competed in the inaugural Inter-School Asian IT Management Case Competition 2011 organised by the NUS School of Computing on 22nd January 2011 in NUS.
The competition has a focus on cases centred on IT management and best practices. Participants, working in teams, have to apply problem-solving, critical thinking and objective analysis to solve real world problems within 48 hours. The teams then present their analysis and recommendations of the case to a panel of judges, comprise of industry professionals and academics from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Infocomm Development Authority, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Proctor and Gamble, Siemens Medical and SIM University.
The winning team from DBIT, consisting of Doreen Gan Siew Li, Mabel Yeo Yao Ling and Tan Ming Si emerged as the second runner up, hot on the heels of two NUS Year-One undergraduates team to clinch the 3rd prize of $500 and a trophy. The team put up an excellent performance that showed tremendous maturity and creativity, distinguishing themselves from teams from Temasek Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic. |
