iDiscover @DMIT 2012

26 March 2012

On Fri, 9 Mar 2012, The School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology (DMIT) hosted 92 students and 4 teachers from 5 secondary schools, in “iDiscover @DMIT 2012”.

The secondary school students are from Hua Yi, Yuan Ching, Kent Ridge, Chua Chu Kang and Manjusri.

iDiscover@DMIT has become a perennial annual event held in conjunction with DMIT’s graduation show.

The secondary school students have had great fun as they visited the project exhibits, viewed the 3D stereoscopic short films, and watched the live band performance put up by the Diploma in Music and Audio Technology (DMAT) graduates. They also toured the school facilities, attended a talk by IDA and sharing by DMIT student Michelle Tan.

Many participants have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to attend such a fun packed and informative event. Form the survey polled, many felt they have gained insights into the digital media and IT industry, and have benefited from the sharing. For example, Michelle shared about how she has benefited from the Integrated Infocomm Scholarship awarded by IDA. She has also talked about the immersive experience she has had at DMIT. There were movie tickets to be won at the end by answering simple quiz questions. The participants walked away with a pack of goodies from SP and IDA.
