A teacher affects eternity:
he can never tell where his influence stops.

At SP Business School, our lecturers go the extra mile. We are proud to feature two lecturers from SP Business School, Han Lih Lih and Ken Kwan, who are the proud recipients of Koh Boon Hwee award.
The Koh Boon Hwee Scholar Award is given to top students of Nanyang Technological University who have achieved excellent academic performance, displayed strong leadership ability and demonstrated potential for contributing to society. These students will nominate teachers who have inspired them in their educational path. The award aims to establish long-lasting and fulfilling relationships between the students and their teachers.
Recipients of the award will be recognised for their inspirational teaching with a S$5,000 cash grant each to be established in their names. Each honoured teacher will nominate a student from his/her junior college, polytechnic or equivalent institution to receive the S$5,000 grant upon admission to NTU.
Han Lih Lih received this prestigious award in 2012. Meyyappan Somasundaram who completed a Diploma in Banking and Financial Services in Singapore Polytechnic and went to graduate with a Bachelor of Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, nominated Lih Lih for the award.
Ken Kwan, another lecturer in SP Business School was the recipient of the Koh Boon Hwee award in 2010. He was nominated by Yammie Chin, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Psychology from Nanyang Technological University. Yammie, a former student said of Ken:
“Under his tutelage, I am now more analytical and logical but also creative at the same time, which helped me develop into a well-rounded student”.
Ken shared with us what motivates him, like when a student gets a good grade or does well. His advice to students is “ Know what you love to do in life (your passion)”, and you can work toward realising your passion.
Congratulations to Lih Lih and Ken! May their success be an inspiration to fellow lecturers.
