9 of our EEE students spent 48 hours prototyping and pitching their prototype and business plan at two hackathons - International Science Enterprise Challenge 2017 (ISEC2017) and Bosch BoT Hackathon held on 13 -14 May 2017. Both were intense competitions which demanded a new level of thinking and presentation skills, coupled with broad understanding of engineering applications. In both competitions, our EEE students emerged in the top finalist positions to qualify for pitching at the next level.
DEEE 3rd year students, Denzil Ang Xue Wen, Valent Chia Shu Wei and Chin Yong Kang, together with 2 DEEE fresh graduates, Ho Hsiao 3 DEEE 3rd year students, Denzil Ang Xue Wen, Valent Chia Shu Wei and Chin Yong Kang, together with 2 DEEE fresh graduates, Ho Hsiao Chong and Yang Quanliang, won the Bronze award at the IES Community Innovation Challenge 2017 on 29 Apr 2017.
DEEE Engineering Academy students, Yang Fan, Tan Hwee Peng, Chiong Kai Ming, Lee Yann Ning, Lim Wei Kheng and Teo Shyan Jie, competed against students from universities in Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia to win 1st place at the IEEE MATE ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) competition held at Surabaya, Indonesia, from15-16 April 2017.
Congratulations to year 3 students from the Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (DEEE), Ong Yiyong, Anthony Tan, Joseph Raj and Eyzen Chua for winning the Bronze Award in the Technology Category of the 5th National Assistive & Rehabilitation Technologies (ART) Student Innovation Challenge (SIC) held in Singapore on 4 April 2017.
