MOE to keep up momentum on values education to make every school a good school; tweaks to PSLE not announced yet

Lianhe Zaobao,  23 May 2014 - Edward Ho, the Course Medallist for the Diploma in Banking and Financial Services, is featured for his achievements. He was once so obsessed with online gaming that he fell behind in his studies. He picked himself up upon the encouragement of his teacher and is now graduating with a GPA of 3.98. Also mentioned in the article is Divesh Singaraju, the Lee Kuan Yew Award recipient and Course Medallist for the Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering, for his triumph against cancer and emerging as one of the top eight SP graduates this year. Education Minister Heng Swee Keat, who was the Guest-of-Honour for SP Graduation Ceremony 2014, said that PSLE will be part of his ministry's agenda for the second term of Parliament, but it is not a "standalone piece". In his speech to address the graduates, Mr. Heng urged students not to see learning and work as separate parts of life. The ability to learn new things is one of the "crucial intangibles" - qualities that allow people to succeed today, he said. The article also mentioned that SP turned 60 this year.
