Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to jointly establish Singapore’s first Global Technology Innovation Village (GTiV) at the Industrial Transformation Asia Pacific 2020 event graced by Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Heng Swee Keat.

Singapore Polytechnic Announces New Chairman

Ms Janet Ang, Chairman of the Institute of Systems Science at National University of Singapore (NUS) will be appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors (BOG) at Singapore Polytechnic (SP) with effect from 16 September 2020. Ms Ang, who joined SP’s BOG in January 2020, succeeds Mr Bill Chang, Country Chief Officer for Singapore and CEO of Group Enterprise at Singtel.

More opportunities for Singaporeans through new SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes

To provide Singaporeans with more work-study opportunities in emerging and growth sectors, four new SkillsFuture Work-Study Programmes will be introduced by Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), offering more than 140 places over the next two years. One of these is the first SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree Programme to be delivered in a Place-and-Train mode.

2019 Polytechnic Graduates Continue To Be In Good Demand

The Graduate Employment Survey (GES), jointly conducted by the five polytechnics in 2017, showed that polytechnic graduates continue to be in demand in the job market. The overall employment rate six months after graduation was at 87.3% (86.4% for fresh graduates, and 89.8% for post-NS graduates).
