Rebottle makes it easier for residents to recycle bottles

23 Dec 2022

Rebottle was launched by the waste management company SembWaste and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) in Block 125, Edgedale Plains recently with Ms Yeo Wan Ling, Member of Parliament (AP) of GRC Pasir Ris-Punggol as guest of honour. The smart recycling receptacles were developed by students from the SP School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering as well as the Media, Arts and Design School. Quoted in the article were SP second year student Aishah Mohamad Kusnan and computer engineering student Peh Jun Xiang who shared about how Rebottle allows for easier recycling as residents only need to empty their bottles because they are washed after collection. Each cage is also designed so that it can withstand the weight of the bottle containing the liquid in case anyone forgets to empty it.
