School of Chemical & Life Sciences signs Memorandum of Cooperation with three FoodTech companies

27 Oct 2023

On 20 Oct 2023, three Memorandum of Cooperations (MoCs) were inked between the School of Chemical & Life Sciences (CLS) and three FoodTech companies: Mycrocell Pte Ltd, Kosmode Health Singapore Pte Ltd, and Mycosortia Pte Ltd. These collaborations are anchored in the Future Food Innovation District (FFID). The FFID is a project that aims to create a sustainable food ecosystem in Singapore by bringing together food-related businesses, research institutions, and government agencies.

The goal of these collaborations is to grow the capabilities of CLS in novel foods and provide a one-stop solution to new FoodTech start-ups. Additionally, these collaborations will establish authentic industry-relevant learning experiences for students through collaborative projects. The companies will be housed at the new Future Food Lab (FFL) which will be ready by the end of 2023. The FFL is a new foodtech incubation centre equipped with shared facilities like hot desks/meeting rooms, fermentation lab, kitchen lab, sensory booths and analytical lab. Companies will also be heavily involved in mentoring students from the Diploma in Food Science & Technology (DFST) course through our BITE+ Industry Now Curriculum, Final Year Projects as well as internships.
