A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Employment and Employability Institute Pte Ltd (e2i), Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) on 17 December 2020, during launch of the Career Development Plan (CDP) & Job Fair for the Solar Energy Sector at the Singapore Sustainability Academy (SSA). National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) Secretary-General (SG), Ng Chee Meng was the Guest of Honour at the event. 

As the demand for manpower in the Solar Energy sector rises, it is imperative to build a strong core workforce so as to ensure reliability on clean energy. This MoU provides a broad framework focusing on the sustainability of solar Installers profession in the Solar Energy Sector by helping employers to redesign the job of a Solar Technologist, put in place some form of Solar Career Development Plan (CDP), attract and nurture a pool of local skilled manpower through training and re-skilling to serve the current and future needs of the industry.
