This year, 125 youths received teaching scholarships and awards from the Ministry of Education. Education Minister Mr Chan Chun Sing encouraged scholarship recipients to use technology to tailor lesson plans to meet individual student needs and abilities in their future teaching careers. One of this year's teaching award winners, Chen Yaoming, emphasised the importance of correct values and good character as key to personal success and societal progress. While studying at SP, Chen Yaoming volunteered every Saturday at the CDAC@ Tampines. He not only tutored students but also focused on their overall development, teaching them skills such as financial literacy, global awareness, and pandemic prevention. He said, "Volunteering at the community association, I felt gratified seeing the students' growth. For example, students who initially had poor attitudes towards learning became more confident and articulate in expressing their ideas with my encouragement. Their progress made me feel that being a teacher is both meaningful and fulfilling."
