We are thrilled to welcome you to the beginning of an exciting journey at Singapore Polytechnic. The life of an SP student should be a blend between coursework and social experiences.
Life@PFP aims to develop students into all-rounded young adults via the various student activities and overseas experience. We offer a wide range of exciting activities to help our students develop life skills so that they are future-ready.
PFP Student Chapter is a committee that organised PFP events for their peers and juniors. There are opportunities for them to develop their leadership capabilities, teamwork and organisation skills.
The PFP orientation was filled with excitement and camaraderie, featuring engaging games like ice breakers, capture the flag, and the amazing race. These activities not only helped participants bond, break the ice, and foster teamwork but also allowed us to familiarize ourselves with the campus, creating a fun and memorable start to the programme. Freshmen were also briefed on administrative matters by their personal tutors and got ready for the start of their PFP journey ahead.

From the camp, students are able to self- and team-reflect on behaviours of personal leadership and interpersonal relationship effectiveness, teamwork & class bonding and resilience.

The annual Poly50 Campus Relay was inaugurated since the 1970s at the Prince Edward Road Campus.
In 2024 (in conjunction with the celebration of SP70), there were a record breaking of 11 teams from PFP that participated in this event, showcasing their speed, teamwork, and determination. With their effective efforts during this year’s Poly50 Campus Relay, one of the PFP teams, “WansueyPFP” managed to make it into the 6th position (student category)! All PFP students that had participated by running or cheering from the sidelines had played a big part in making this event an astounding success.
This event shall continue to inspire and unite us and future PFP students!

Imagine saving a life with just a few steps – Well look no further, in SP PFP, we provide you with that opportunity!
Through a half-day training course led by qualified trainers that provides you with the training on how to perform CPR and AED using simple and easy steps!
Upon completion, students will receive a certificate and CCA point.
Held every semester, The director-students dialogue provides a platform for all class leaders to share about their class’s overall experience in SP. It’s a great chance for students to voice out their thoughts and get valuable insights. The director will be there to listen and address students' concerns directly.
Class leaders will also get opportunities to mingle with one another to foster inter-class bonding and forge strong connections during class leaders engagement sessions too!
At the PFP ECG Seminars, our counsellor provides valuable tips on setting SMART goals and planning your career. In 2024, former PFP students and SP institutional medalists, Jotham Hoe and Dillon Tey shared how staying curious, building a strong academic foundation, and seizing opportunities can really pay off. Their experiences show that these strategies are key to both academic success and future career growth.
If you’re feeling uncertain about moving into your Diploma Year, don’t worry! During ECG seminar, you’ll attend Course Chair engagement sessions to get a preview of what’s ahead and prepare effectively. This is a great opportunity to ask your future course chairs any questions you might have.

Students presented and showcased their service learning projects in the form of gallery walk with community partners and stakeholders.
The festival fostered a culture of active and effective citizenry.

To complement their in-class learning, every year non-S&T PFP students visit NUS Science Demo Lab to learn scientific principles through interesting and engaging live science demonstrations and hands-on workshops. In the workshops, students experiment on different types of blood, interact with live mealworms to learn about respiration, and explore distant galaxies and celestial bodies in a planetarium. These activities highlight how much science goes into our daily lives which they often take for granted.

PFP Completion Ceremony is a significant milestone for students who have successfully completed the programme. This ceremony celebrates their hard work, dedication, and achievements over the past year. It marks the transition from the foundation programme to their respective diploma courses, symbolizing a new chapter in their academic journey.
