Course Objective

Adobe Premiere Pro Fundamentals is a short course for producing videos using Adobe Premiere Pro. The course introduces the participants to the software interface, media handling and file organisation. Topics to be covered range from video assembly, audio editing & enhancements, text, titles & graphics generations to effects & colour correction for video. Participants will also be introduced to some uses of Adobe AI tools in the Premiere Pro workflow.

This compact course aims to equip participants with the fundamental skills to take on entry-level video editor roles. By the end of the course, participants should be able to import various multimedia content, assemble offline cuts and apply finishing touches to acquired footage. They will also be able to export the finalised project to video formats that conform to industry standards.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:  
 
1. name the Adobe Premiere Pro workspaces 
2. handle different media in Adobe Premiere Pro 
3. perform basic non-linear video editing 
4. edit and enhance audio 
5. apply audio & video transitions as well as audio & video effects 
6. apply motion and other transformations to footage 
7. execute more complex editing tasks 
8. generate/add text and graphics to the video 
9. manage simple colour correction 
10. export video for delivery to different digital platforms

2. Media format, files import and organisation 
3. Tools & AI used for video & audio editing 
4. The fundamental skills of video assembly
5. Audio editing, mixing and enhancement 
6. Transitions and masking techniques 
7. Title, captions, and credits creation 
8. Effects and colour correction 
9. Media linking 
10. Rendering & Exporting 
 
*The course also briefly introduces the video pre-production and production processes.  
 
Course level: basic to intermediate.
