SP recently launched “Try-a-Skill” booths during its Open House from 8 to 10 January, allowing students to experience advanced engineering skills. The polytechnic also announced the “Teamwork Development Framework”, which aims to develop both social and technical skills, with top-performing students earning an e-Certificate of Excellence. Another highlight of the Open House included 60 student projects featuring innovative solutions that address social and business challenges, as well as eco-friendly initiatives such as AURA+, which repurposes waste into sustainable deodorisers. Other projects, such as REVAMP, focus on textile recycling. These projects come under the “Business Essentials Through Action” (BETA) programme, which fosters entrepreneurial skills through teamwork, offering real business start-up opportunities. SP’s Industry and Innovation showcase highlighted noteworthy achievements including the award-winning Serich moisturiser for eczema and the solar ecosystem project, which enhances energy efficiency. Additionally, SP introduced a humanoid robot to enhance educational services. The robot also participated in the RoboCup competition in Germany.
