The Singapore Business Federation (SBF) has signed 11 MOUs to strengthen workforce development and help companies in Singapore’s wholesale trade sector grow. The agreements are part of the Jobs Skills Integrator for Wholesale Trade (JSIT-WST) initiative, which aims to provide end-to-end support to firms by addressing skills gaps and improving workforce capabilities. Over the next year, the MOUs are expected to benefit about 700 companies and around 1,000 workers, helping businesses adapt to global supply chain disruptions and technological changes. The partnerships focus on three areas: recruitment, training and industry capability. For recruitment, SBF will work with organisations such as NTUC’s e2i, Ingeus and AKG to provide targeted job-matching services that align workforce supply with industry demand. For training, institutions including the National University of Singapore, SP, NTUC LearningHub and SIM Academy will offer courses in areas such as digitalisation, internationalisation and business transformation to help workers upgrade their skills. Industry partners such as FoodXervices and ST Logistics will also provide tools to help companies identify skills gaps, redesign jobs and strengthen talent pipelines.
