Singapore Polytechnic Showcases Future-Ready Education

SP Open House 2026 is its most tech-forward and innovation-driven showcase yet, moving beyond static displays to immersive, hands-on experiences. A central feature is the introduction of Try-a-Skill booths, such as the Stick ’Em Challenge where participants build dynamic structures using 3D-printed connectors and wireless controls. The breadth of innovation spans creative technology like The Paper Bride, a multiplayer virtual reality horror escape room, and healthcare solutions like a non-steroidal eczema formulation. Additionally, the event highlights strategic industry collaborations resulting in low-sugar brew flavours conceptualised and developed by the Diploma in Food Science and Technology students for SG60 and the School of Chemical & Life Sciences’ 60th anniversary. Alongside technical capabilities, SP is strengthening its focus on human-centric and analytical skills essential for future workplaces. The Teamwork Development Framework, launched in Academic Year 2023/24, allows students’ collaboration abilities to be evaluated objectively across their three years of study through a validated peer-rating system, while the renamed School of Mathematical Sciences & Analytics reflects a renewed mission to combine strong mathematical foundations with actionable insights from data. Finally, a record 60 student-run ventures from the School of Business’ Business Essentials Through Action (BETA) programme will be showcased.
