In this interview, Ms Jessie Tong, Deputy Director at SP’s School of Chemical and Life Sciences and Centre Director for SP’s Consumer Chemicals Technology Centre (CCTC), and Dr Rajaletchumy Veloo Kutty, Lead Research Scientist at SP’s CCTC, discussed the Singapore-made product, Serich. This is a locally developed non-steroidal moisturising cream that is designed to support the skin barrier of eczema sufferers. It aims to improve hydration, reduce itchiness, and is microbiome-friendly. Serich serves as a long-term maintenance product alongside steroid treatments. Developed by SP’s School of Chemical and Life Sciences and CCTC, it emphasises safety, sustainability, and practical benefits for eczema-prone skin, tailored to Singapore’s tropical climate. Visitors at SP’s Open House 2026 tried the cream and learned about its science and effectiveness, showcasing SP’s role in translating research into real-world health solutions.
