Course Objective

The Specialist Diploma in Digital Content Marketing (SD-DCM) focuses on digital content strategy and digital content creation that is applied in the areas of digital content marketing. It equips participants with equivalent roles such as Marketing Executive and Community Development Executive with the knowledge and skills required to undertake new roles that include marketing and content creation in the digital industries.

Jointly offered by Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), the Specialist Diploma in Digital Content Marketing (SD-DCM) is a 12-month programme (upon approval of proposed change) designed to deepen the skills and knowledge of participants in DCM through structured institutional-based learning. Thereafter, they may continue with another one module with SUSS, while enrolled as a part-time undergraduate with SUSS, to lead to a SUSS Minor in Digital Content Marketing.

Participants will learn to:
  • Evaluate and employ diverse social media platforms for business in line with emerging trends.
  • Apply effective social media content and management strategies.
  • Measure and analyse social media content performance through analytics.
  • Develop compelling brand stories for clients and create impactful branded videos using proper techniques.
  • Conceptualise and optimise branded videos for various social media platforms.
  • Craft engaging branded content scripts, plan and execute production shoots, utilising camera, light, and audio techniques.
  • Edit videos using both traditional editing software and cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.
  • Gain a holistic understanding of digital content marketing, leveraging content creation and AI tools for a powerful online presence.
  • Create digital content from scratch, including written and visual elements, understanding digital content formats, forms, and functions.
  • Focus on strategic social media management covering corporate communication, public relations, social media campaigns, and online reputation management.
  • Explore the impact of digital influence, assess strengths and weaknesses, and envision the future of social media in strategic communication.

The course consists of 4 modules conducted by SP and 1 module conducted by SUSS. Classes will be conducted in the evenings or via e-learning.

Module 1: Social Media Creation & Management

Semester 2
Module 3: Digital Content Development
Module 4: Digital Video Content Creation

The following SUSS module is conducted by SUSS and is conducted concurrently in Semester 2. 

SUSS Module: Strategic Social Media Management 

Upon successful completion of all modules, participants  will be conferred a Specialist Diploma in Digital Content Marketing qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.

This Specialist Diploma provides a pathway to a Minor in Digital Content Marketing at SUSS for participants opting for a part-time degree programme. Upon completion of this Specialist Diploma, participants are eligible for up to 30 credit units in advanced standing when pursuing a SUSS Minor in Digital Content Marketing.
