SP has awarded S$28,000 in seed funding to 16 student-led startups following its annual SP Batey Challenge and SP Entrepreneurship Hackathon. Along with funding, the winning teams will also receive mentorship and incubation support to help bring their ideas to market. This year’s event brought together more than 300 students from across eight SP schools, who formed trans-disciplinary teams to create commercially viable solutions addressing real-world challenges such as senior care, social connection, and sustainability. The achievements of the current cohort build on SP’s strong track record of producing startups that go on to gain international recognition and investment. For instance, Stick’Em, the 2022 grand prize winner, went on to secure the 2025 Hult Prize in London with US$1 million in seed funding and earned a place on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list. Digi-Up!, which took the Gold Award in 2024, was crowned Global Champion at the 2025 Youth Innovation Expo in Osaka, while Neural Drive, the 2024 grand prize winner, was selected for the highly competitive Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025 in San Francisco. The latest winning teams will showcase their solutions at the SP Pavilion during SWITCH (Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology), which runs from 29 to 31 October 2025.
