Digital Defence Alliance will train student volunteers to teach seniors about digital and cybersecurity

Singapore seniors who struggle with digital services or worry about online scams may soon receive help from student volunteers trained in digital and cybersecurity skills. The Digital Defence Alliance Singapore (DDAS), an industry-led alliance, announced a new initiative to train student volunteers to teach seniors digital literacy and online safety. The programme aims to reach 1,000 people by May next year. As part of the initiative, DDAS signed memorandums of understanding with the three colleges under ITE, as well as NYP and SP, to strengthen digital defence education and awareness among youths and the wider community. The collaboration will include joint training programmes, internships, overseas learning opportunities, promotion of digital security work-study diplomas, and activities focused on building digital trust and cybersecurity awareness.
