Eager to learn and active! 64-year-old Uncle’s retirement life makes even young people feel inferior to him

For some, 65 is a time to retire, relax, and enjoy family. For others, it is the start of a new chapter, full of endless possibilities. After years of hard work and raising a family, it is time to live for oneself and make up for missed opportunities. The new video series, "I'm Still Young," introduces you to grandparents who are older than 60 but live life more vibrantly than the young. 64-year-old Dani Chew (Zhao Jianqiang) is currently enrolled in artificial intelligence and data science courses in SP, which the Singapore government has been actively promoting in recent years. On 1 October, the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) announced a S$120 million investment in AI research as part of the Smart Nation 2.0 initiative. PM Lawrence Wong pointed out that technology is rapidly evolving, and today's digital environment is vastly different from a decade ago. The IMF predicts that AI will impact nearly 40% of jobs globally, with some repetitive tasks at risk of being replaced. However, Dani Chew (Zhao Jianqiang), who graduated from SP’s Electronic and Computer Engineering, is not worried about his ability to excel in this emerging field. "Worrying is pointless. I'll just do my best. Whether the knowledge I gain will be useful will be determined by the market. I believe opportunities are for those who are prepared."
