Graduate who sent out 100 resumes in vain hopes traineeship scheme will bring opportunities

Details of the new Graduate Traineeship Programme were released yesterday. Some graduates said they had previously sent out over a hundred resumes without success, but whether they would apply for the programme depends on whether there are suitable fields and positions available. To address the uncertain economic outlook and companies potentially holding back on hiring, Manpower Minister Dr Tan See Leng announced the launch of the Graduate Traineeship Programme, which will allow graduates to gain practical experience through attachments with various companies or in the public service sector. The scheme will open for applications in October. SP Diploma in Banking and Finance alumna Liang Xueyi (20), said in an interview that she had interned at UOB and Prudential, which gave her a broad understanding of the finance industry and helped her develop practical knowledge and skills that benefited her job search. She therefore encouraged other graduates to seize such internship opportunities.
