Hornbills and Talk Tubes: Singapore Poly students redesign Jurong Town Hall area and classrooms

Final-year students from SP’s School of Architecture & the Built Environment are redesigning real-world spaces to better serve communities. One project, “Peek-a-bill”, by SP student Then Jing Ying, reimagines the Jurong Town Hall area by adding greenery and a boardwalk inspired by hornbills, enhancing both biodiversity and public space. Another project, “Playstate”, by SP student Faydra Neo, redesigns school environments with flexible classroom layouts, mobile furniture and features like “talk tubes” and sensory gardens to improve learning experiences.
