India’s semiconductor push expanded at SEMICON India 2026, with 25 new collaborations announced across areas including high-purity gases and chemicals, advanced semiconductor packaging, power electronics, logistics and workforce development. The agreements include efforts by major companies such as Tata Electronics and L&T Semiconductor Technologies to build domestic manufacturing capabilities and develop technologies for renewable energy, AI data centres and other applications. The event also highlighted India’s need to strengthen its semiconductor talent pipeline, with NIELIT announcing partnerships with Siemens EDA, Tata Electronics, IESA, SEMI University and SP International covering semiconductor design education, training and certification. The partnership with SP is part of broader efforts to develop the skilled workforce needed to support India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem. More than 30 Singapore companies also participated in SEMICON India through Singapore’s pavilion.
