Two ITE College West students, Zeng Jun Kai, 20, and Muhamad Danial Hezri, 21, won first prize at the 2025 HSBC-NYAA-ITE Sustainability Initiative for developing a smart refrigerant leak detector that monitors air-con refrigerant levels in real time. Their innovation helps reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. The project was developed in partnership with Daikin’s subsidiary BMS, and aims to enhance sustainability in facility management. Since completing their Higher Nitec in Facility Management, both students have progressed to SP, where they are now pursuing a Diploma in Facility Management.
