Kajima has established The GEAR by Kajima in Singapore, a technology services business and open innovation platform aimed at advancing innovation and capability development in the construction and built environment sector. The GEAR will make Kajima’s proprietary technologies, R&D, and expertise more widely available, with solutions focused on resilience, sustainability, wellbeing, and productivity. Kajima also signed an MOU with SP to jointly drive innovation, productivity, and digitalisation while training students and industry professionals through learning journeys, internships, and mentorship. Dr Faris Akbar Hajamaideen, Senior Director of SP’s Built Environment and Maritime Cluster, said the partnership combines academic knowledge with practical experience and uses The GEAR as a “living laboratory” to bridge academia and industry while developing the next generation of talent.
